Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Yeah, I put it back in as well already. It actually went in easier than taking it out.
Thanks
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Meh, it's not really needed.
But to each their own.
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Cradle spacers are installed. Everything is painted and drying.
Replaced the radiator, and installed the trans cooler lines onto the new fittings/cooler.

The last rubber hose/line in my entire braking system. Replaced it with the stainless line beneath it.

..Said stainless line in place.

It is clean enough already...right?

Just need to drop the front header in and align it with the crossover and bolt both to the heads.
Only misc. brackets remain before this thing moves again!
If I don't finish later today after work, I will by Tuesday.
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Okay - so...we're well past Tuesday...
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Yeah, yeah I know. I am at work right now, hoping to get off early again like yesterday and finish her up today.
Need to stop and grab new GXP front brake pads and new axle nuts, since I mushroom'd the FUK outta the ones I had removing the axles.
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
lol...k...just wanted to make sure nothing bad happened...

Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
On Sunday, I ended up grabbing a new pair of axles since my stock pair would not accept good axle nuts.
I'll save my factory ones, grind the ends down and clean/rebuild them later.
Assembled the front suspension...You can see I painted the LCA's black, beats the rust color for a few minutes of my time.
You can also see in the first picture, the 3rd stainless brake line.

It's all back together up top. I've filled/primed the oiling system with the engine turned over around 10 seconds afterwards, a couple times after.
It rotates very smoothly.
http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...43163923_n.jpg
Now the problems are...I started filling the radiator and it started urinating down the front of the engine/pass side.
I did re-use both coolant elbows, sil glyde'n 'em as they went back. I assume the ALT2wP one is the culprit.
I have a bunch laying around, not a problem.
The actual problem or preferably known as delay would be my fuel rail line.
I un-threaded the 3/4" fastener on the zzp rails, instead of just popping the quick disconnect...Note for next time, especially since I had the QD tool and it takes 4 seconds over multiple turns with a wrench.
It is a bit worn and fuel will spew out from the center. I even cut off the worn section today, pressed on the washer and slide the nut back over for a tighter feeling rail line.
It spews out less, but still not acceptable by any means haha.
ZZP wants $20 bucks for the line. Meh, don't give a ****. I just want to drive it already. So close.

Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
I figured out that just the ALT2wP coolant elbow needs to be replaced, the current one has a crack in the middle of it causing the drip-age.
I was able to get the fuel line to seal, so that means this car will start and drive tomorrow. This time for real.
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
On the diff install. Did you feed the output shaft in from the driverside?
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
No, I fed the output shaft with the differential on it all in from the passenger side.
Why do you ask?
*shake*
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
Because..that raised area on the output shaft catches on the lube dam and breaks it if you install from the passenger end.
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
And bill delivers the bad news for the day...lol jking bill good looking out. after all the work hes put into i dought he wants to take it all back a part
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
I'd run it the way it is.. but know that you might have diff issues from lack of lubage
Re: A blessing in the bone yard...trans swapping a DDRace car (story+pics)
This project did get completed.
Got it back on the road last Thursday.
Today, me and my friend did a photoshoot.
Here is a link to the pictures.
