Hey I was just tryin to see if anyone has used one of these stage one kits or know of someone that has. Im going to be going threw my trans this winter along with some more stuff and Im trying to see if it would be better to do the rebuild kit with a zzp torque converter or if I should just get the whole street/strip setup? Building it is not a problem my buddy is a gm certified tranny tech and Im just gm certified tech so no fear but I can't find any reviews on the rebuild kits. All helps appreciated, thanks guys

    Dave won't steer you wrong.

He's a great guy, I had one of his built transmissions in my old car.

I went with Dave a TEP and ended up using that kit along with some of the upgrades that he offers. I also sent the valve body in to have all of the upgrades done to it. If I had to do it all over again I may not have gone with the entire kit. The trans that I rebuilt was from a car that was rear-ended and had only 38K on it so the trans I rebuilt did not need a lot of wear items replaced. Great guy to work with and will always do business with him when it comes to the 4T65E-HD. Best customer service around and took the time to answer all of my questions.

I'm in the same place as 99Quick. Bought a kit, other pieces and the TC. The service alone and assistance with some "should I?" questions was amazing. FWIW I'd highly recommend having the VB/Channel plate done by TEP.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
