I moved past the OP's issue and was talking in general about your comment that our transmissions don't know left turns. They sure can..and it's a common problem. Adding info..not necessarily the issue.

Let me clarify: when sitting still, the transmission has no idea (nor does it matter) where the steering wheel is.
If the OP is having whining when sitting still that is louder when he turns his steering wheel left, I think his tranny is a red herring and he needs to be looking at his steering and suspension.
he says when driving and then taking a left turn, once the whine starts it stays even when parked at that point. it dont do it at first start up or just sitting and cranking the wheel back and fourth is what im getting out of this thread.
sounds tranny related to me. but im not there with the car either.
hes yet to post back if the fluids low or brown, no facts have come back yet.
