Started having the famous pressure control solenoid problem a few weeks ago. Initially, it would reset and be fine for a day or two before acting up again. Now, it starts after about five minutes of driving, with the whine and hard shifting. Aside from the hard shifting being annoying, is it ok to keep driving?
I plan on adding a shift kit, but it will be a week or two before I can do that. I just want to make sure I wont do irreversible damage by driving it with the pcs problem. Thanks for any insight!

I wouldnt drive it, the whine and harsh shifts arent good for the trans.

A shift kit is relaly not going to help cure the PCS problem, you should replace the PCS.

I can't afford the labor associated with replacing the pcs, and don't think I could handle it myself. I was planning on adding the shift kit after reading numerous threads saying that the kit eliminated the problem from occurring.
