Thread: adding Perf. Shift to an 01' GTP

basically is it possible to add to a gtp w/o it, on 3800 performance they say shift table is only changed in perf. shift on thier tunes (which i have), so if i dont have the option how does my tune work, but either way i would like it if it only adding a switch and some wires

if so, that might explain why it shifts ****ty at 75% throttle but better at WOT

ok, i tried google and found that you can ground pin 21 on a tuned pcm to enable it but doesnt do as much on a 01+ compared to a -00

oh, and i have a DHP pcm

my 99 and 00 parts cars both had perf shift. must be 01+ thing

Omg. I've been wondering about that since I got the car. Makes so much sense now lol. I want it on all the time :/

It's an easy add. Wire and programming.

Both 97's that I've had have had performance shift.

OP I have a ps shift knob i'd sell cheap if you're interested.
