Ok guys, so here's the situation.

Take a standard 4T65e tranny, and make it HD...

How do you do it? and What pieces of the HD transmission will I need?

I plan on doing my transmission swap in my car in the near future, and i also plan on installing a Shift Kit into the tranny before it goes in, and I was figuring if it's worth the benifits of going HD or not? and What i need to go HD. If i follow through with this, i'll be posting a How To on the subject.

the difference is the diff, the diff cover, and the axle.

it's really not worth the swap in my opinion.

Th HD diff might take more abuse to one wheel wonders, but really the swap is not worth it unless your going to build the trans.

The internals of both gt and gtp transmissions are the same pretty much.

Running a shift kit will can help the trans alot, a performance shift kit can also be bought to help increase shift feel aswell as make the shift quicker and snappy.

Its up to you, swapping the springs and adding the spacers to the accumulator is not hard at all, can be done with the trans in or out.

HE has the harsher shift kit and it will only chirp them at WOT, in some peoples cases.

But I strongly suggest buying the transgo shift kit, its a big upgrade from the stock one and its made to help the trans live longer by getting rid of a few problems that the stock trans can have.

so you advise getting the transgo kit from trippleedgepreformance.com?

do you have a reason why? better components??
    Whats wrong with Thrashers kit?

nothing is wrong with thrasher's kit. i'm not too familiar with transgo, but people on this forum told me to stay clear of thrasher because of the "neck-breaking shifts." they really aren't that bad. its just a hard, firm shift. and the tires only chirp from 1st to 2nd at WOT so they wont be chirping all the time lol so dont worry you wont get pulled over for that. and the firmness of the shifting depends on what springs and spacers you use, there's different set ups you can do. that probably is the same for transgo also but i dont know how firm you can make the shifts. i think i heard that you cant make them as firm as the thrasher one can but im not certain. all i know is that my thrasher shift kit made my shifts real firm (i used the max firmness set up) and my tires chirp at WOT which is real fun. you will have to find someone who installed a transgo on their car to see how firm their shifts are. heres another way you can look at it, firmer shifts are quicker. so the firmer the shift the faster your shift time is.

Isn't the HD diff just as susceptible to damage from one wheel peel?

Doesn't really matter they are pretty close to the same. I think the transgo comes with more stuff though.
