My GP just threw a code of p0742, this is after putting the recommended shift kit and spring in the 1-2 spot. Have only put about 800 (if not less) miles on it since the install. Any help is appreciated! Everyone here is always so helpful!

This code normally sets if the TCC solenoid becomes contaminated with debris and does not release TCC (torque converter clutch) as commanded by the pcm and as mentioned above the code description is TCC stuck ON. A shift kit, in the sense of lower accumulator upgrades that is, will not effect this and is unrelated. Some guys have good luck with installing a new tcc solenoid while others dont and the repair is only short lived. Higher commanded line pressure can also cause this problem when modding a car. Unfortunately getting to the solenoid requires dropping down the transmission so you can remove the side cover. 2002 and earlier vehicles you also have to unbolt the pump from the valve body and slide it out a bit as the tcc solenoid clip is covered by the pump.
