    1) How long should I leave the ATF in the tranny after rebuild? Is it like an engine where you use break-in oil for 200 miles and dump it? Basically, I don't want to put $130 of new ATF in there just to replace it in a week (I will use the cheap stuff if that's the case)

    2) Synthetic or conventional?

    3) Is it worth replacing my PS rack now that I have the cradle off? It doesn't leak and works fine - so that might seem like a dumb question. But, I don't know how long they usually last.

1.) no you'll leave the same fluid in there. Just be gentle on it for the first 500 miles.

if you have super high miles, then changing the rack may be a good idea, it will never be this easy to change it again.

you'll likely need and alignment after you put the sub frame back up anyway.
