It should have given you a trouble code when this happened, do you know what the code number was? The Genysis will record the timeframe before and after the problem happened and will allow you to view data before and after the code tripped so there should be a code for this.

never g use a code just a error time frame like you said. we looked every where in the genysis and could not find a thing. bi remember it saying error so took it that the shift seliniod was bad? i ordered two fo them. you think i was in the wrong?

It should only throw an error on the screen when a code trips, so there should have been a trouble code when you commanded the shifts manually and the error popped up. It will not tell you on the data screen that there is a code, but when a code occurs this is when the screen says error and records before and after timeframes so you can see what changed. That is not so much important as what the actual code was. If you can hook it up again try this, and go out of the data screen and view current and history trouble codes, there should be one. Im not saying that a solenoid isnt bad, but it is nice to know what the code is to have a better idea. Also as I mentioned very carefully inspect the wire harness and make sure there arent any problems with the wires, this even means areas that are questionable looking to peel off the wire loom and the tape to get a closer look. Also since you are in school they should have Alldata or Mitchell on demand. You should pull up wire schematics and start tracing wires. Disconnect the pcm and transmission connectors and measure the resistance between the solenoid wires at the pcm connector and at the trans connector and make sure you dont have an open wire OR also check that none of them are shorted to ground or 12V.
