Hey everyone, today i went out in an empty parking lot trying to work on my launches.
and of course i think ive come across a tranny problem.

First time ever doing a hard launch with car, whole car shakes as if wheels are skipping on pavement, but there not.
My first thought was bad mounts, but to my surprise they all looked good.

Then had my father, who is a life long mechanic take a ride with me. He thinks it may be the clutches.

Another new thing i found about my car is that when my father first bought it, he drove it to Mexico where he was gunning it going up steep mountains.
He said the tranny was overheating, and it never had the same torque as before.

So long story short, i think it is the clutches but i would like to double check before rebuilding.

    btw tranny oil is clean.

sounds like the trac control is still on, or worse yet 1 st gear is well on its way out.

Even if traction control is off, if enough slip is encountered, it will still engage.

so pretty much the only way to know is if i start tering everything down?

I am completely sure trac was off. This being my daily i don't want to be taking the bus for a week or two while i rebuild the tranny.

being sort of on topic, what parts should i upgrade if i want to reach a goal of maybe 350 whp?

What octane fuel are you running? The lack of power thing has me wondering.
Also..if you are stock programming, the pcm will learn the driving style to a degree and pull timing to keep you from abusing the trans.

The foward band could be developing an issue.
The input seal/clutches could be wearing.

Since you have a mechanic and likely a good scanner in the family.. take a look at the car with it and see if you can get any info as to KR, Slip, difference in input vs output sensors etc.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

running BP 93, current mods are intense tune, intake, and 3.5 pulley with 2* of knock.

Checked front suspension and all is sound.

I am able to get a hold of a Tech 2 but that would have to wait till the weekend.

For now ill just keep on babying it

If you really want to see if it's the traction control....Disconnect the EBCM connector under the hood, it will disable TC and ABS.

alright took a little longer than i thought to bring it to the shop.

i found a service bulletin relating to shudders on hard acceleration
possible cause is pressure control solenoid or dirty valve body.

to test the solenoid i hooked up pressure gauge to trans and controlled amperage of solenoid with tech 2 which in return adjusts pressure

comparing the actual values to commanded values, i saw that they were off by an average of 20 psi

i decided to replace the solenoid which was a PITA which required lowering the trans and removing the side cover.

a week driving with the repair and everything is a-ok

one last question, on 3-4 shifts, once in a while it'll take a second or two to shift.
the rpms go up as if i put trans in neutral then it will go into gear.

is this a possible sign of worn 4 gear shaft?

The symptom is typically no 4th gear once the shaft wears enough. Before that..it holds..might slip a little..but if it slips, you should lose 4th completely.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

My 3rd to 4th was slipping when i bought it. The zzp canned tune took care of it because of the upped line pressures.

The tune from intense does up line pressure but i guess the hub is close to dieing.

for now ill keep on driving till the trans quits on me.
