I got no reverse!!!!!! 1-2 2-3 3-4 great, just no reverse.

Well that sucks.
I would normally blame a broken band but I know yours are new! Also if the seal on the reverse apply servo wasnt in the groove all the way and chewed up or rolled out of the groove it will lose reverse. A pressure gauge would rule out a valve body issue if you can get ahold of one but it needs to be for transmissions and read at least 300psi
hey trannyman! have you heard of the safety switch causing this?
also, When I went to AutoZone to get my car scaned the scanner wouldnt show anything on its screen. I am guessing no power to it. any takers on the scanner prob?
Reverse will work computer or not, so any electrical problem wont cause the trans to not have reverse as long as the mechanical linkage is correct. No power to let a scanner work could be a blown fuse so check them and make sure they are good.
I have no pics of the problem. but I am a flukin moron. had to tear back into it. and I had to get a new band from one of the local retailers. I'm such an idiot.
eh what the hell. I wasnt paying attention. and I put the band in backwards. I didnt have the servo in to throw up any alarms, and the manual didnt tell me anything about it that I can recall. and it was late when I was doing assembly (2:30 am). so I screwed up.
The band when I went for the inital run would "catch" a bit when it was put in D. and after bout a block and half, two blocks. It all free up. no knocking no burnt smell nothing. so I droped the trans back out adn removed the servo, couldnt see the tabs and knew all I could do then is crack it open. And I did. found the band, and the clutch material had burnt off and started to get into the metal. that is when I decided to replace it. And after 1500 miles or so I will chang the fluid and see if there is anything there that shouldnt be. I didnt find any extra pieces or anything like that when did all this so I am betting its all good now.
