will the tranny out of an 01 gtp work in a 97. i looked in other posts and from what i can tell the 01 tranny uses "quick release connectors" and the 97's didnt, is it possible to make it work or is it easier just to sell my 01 and get a 97 tranny .

Yes it will work but you have to change the cooler line fittings. One of the fittings, the one closest to the lower pan will swap as it has the same threads. The other fitting, the cooler feed fitting, will not work as 97-mid 99 used a smaller thread. The mid 99+ cases had a larger threaded hole and requires a designated fitting. There were some 99s that used this larger thread and still had a threaded fitting. I have the fittings new and I believe Intense also sells the correct fitting you will need to make the trans work in your car.
if i were to get these shipped from you how long do you think it would take to get to ontario
well i was able to get the 01 into my 97 found a local shop that had the parts i needed but i have another problem. when i come to a complete stop and give the car some gas the tranny slips a bit and then hooks up. if i let the car start to roll and then lightly apply the gas no problem. i checked the fluid it was a bit low so i added 1 more pint. its been driven about 10km since i added the fluid
all other grears are great upshift downshift no problems, just wondering if i will have to baby this thing or just need to wait longer/take it easy untill the fluid works its way around.
