So the girlfriend noticed another issue with her POS car. When driving, it shifts to second fine, then SLAMS into 3rd gear, shifts fine into 4th. (auto trans).
So i took it and had the tranny filter, fluid and gasket replaced, thinking that might solve the issue, since the fluid is OEM from when the car was brand new, apparently she never thought to have the **** changed at all, ever.
There was about less than 2 quarts that came out, no metal or flakes of anything though, so lucky there. Anyways the fluid was more than black, so that was awesome.
So it's been a week now, and it's still doing it i guess. I leave the STi at home today and drive her to work to experience this for myself, and it's nuts.
In second, when driving normal, and it's supposed to shift into 3rd, it'll stay at the rpm range of like 2000 to 2300, and then stay there, then slam into 3rd gear.
If i push on the pedal when it's lagging to shift, it just keeps it in second and just climbs up the range, like it should do, then it slams into 3rd wherever i decide to let off. I have no idea what could be wrong with this car. I am not a FWD guy, nor do i know it's workings for that matter to even be able to diagnose. It feels like what would be a powershift at full boost in the STi is all i can describe it as. That's probably not very helpful at all, but that's all i got.
