    ok trying to figure this out and my brain hurts

    first the car 1997 Grand Prix GT. with a L67 and engine bay harness from a 1997 GTP and 4t65-e (non-HD) form a 2001 GT then a 2001 SE. the PCM was reflashed to work with the 3.29 gear ration of the none HD trans

    with both transmission the 2001 GT and the 2001 SE there is no 4th gear. the GT trans was removed thinking it was a bad 4th gear shaft the SE trans worked in the doner car it had 4th but in the 97 it no longer has 4th

    TCC works it locks the converter when the selector is in the OD position and unlocks when the shifter is moved to the 3 postion

    so any ideas what it could be? beiseds the no 4th car drives and shifts like a normal car witht eh converter locking and unlocking as it should.

    pretty sure it is an electrical issue eather in the harness, PCM, or external sensor. i just do not own a shop manual with a flow chart to test this

    But why make it an SE?

    yeah just realy bad luck. both the GT and SE transmission had bad 4th gear shafts what are the odds? worked in the doner car lol

    It happens... that's why it's known as a common issue. You probably tested it on the last bit of metal still holding it together.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    yeah it's just with my track recored with GPs and luck i find it slightly amusing
    But why make it an SE?
