A few problems have come up with my 00 GTP.
First of all I seem to be having a problem that most have as I can see. When ever the car is dead cold, The car will slip or not go anywhere. I can get it moving by going around 3k rpm and then it will slowly go. After its warmed up it seems to do fine. It had a bad CV axle that I replaced and currently has a bad wheel bearing. I can deal with this, just let it warm up and off you go but my new problem is ticking me off.
So today after work I found out the car stays in a neutral state in both 4th and 3rd. Meaning you go from Park, to reverse (Which works) then into drive and nothing happends, rpms don't change or feel like it engages. Same with 3rd. Now go into 2nd and you can feel it like normal. Same with 1st.
Now driving it does it fine if you shift it manually. From what I saw it does engage in overdrive but when going to a stop if you keep it at Drive or 3rd it will go into neutral stage and not go anywhere until shifted into 2nd and or 1st.
Whats going on here? Should I check the linkage for problems? I did a quick visual and saw what I think is the linkage. It can be seem from the top and the cable/shifter routes around and into the middle of the firewall. Under the linkage bolt is some kind of sensor.
Any help with this would be praised, as far as the morning sickness that I can deal with for now. Spring hits and I can park this aside and fix it.
