i feel like a idiot ive looked at the link to page u sent twice and just didnt see it... pan was dropped there was a spot about the size of a quarter of carbon in pan and one little sliver of metal...fluid slightly discolored but no bad smell...possibly due to fact that i added a can of justice bros tranny conditioner.someone reccomended sea foam i added a bottle last night and it seems like its helping out a little bit.i have only driven car about 100 miles since adding.nextttttttt question if it is just the epc solenoid in your opinion what would a ball park shop rate be to replace? also if sea foam corrects prob should i just leave it at that and see what happens?or would it be best to go ahead and have epc replaced?THANK YOU! for your time in this matter.i seem to get the runaround from trans shops trying to sucker me in for a complete rebuild.

Phew, I didn't realize Seafoam had their "TransTune" made specifically for transmissions. I thought you took regular Seafoam and dumped it in there.

If the additive helps out then great but dont count on it over the course of time as the solenoid has a mechanical problem and magic in a can isnt going to fix though it may help the trans work a little better. Most shops dont want to just replace the solenoid as they dont want the liability if it doesnt fix the problem and needs further repairs, then nobody wins and you are out money and they look bad. Most shops charge in the $450- up to $1300 range to replace this solenoid..... YES I have had people tell me $1300 and I about fell off of my chair! You are at the mercy of what your local shops want to do and charge, just make sure if you do go for the repair that everything is clearly explained with what they will and will not cover.
