I have a 97 gtp 2 door, trans is slightly built, but other gears are too low for my likings, I want to swap the gears from the Gt trans cuz its got a 3:29 final drive gearing. My car is a 2:93. Would anyone suggest this?

the gt has a lower gear ratio which is what your looking for your gtp has a higher gear ratio. But you could swap them, swap your differential too as it's HD. You would need a tune to run it though.

Why a tune? My trans gas a shift kit, I guess I could swap that too

Because of the different gear ratio your shift points will need changed.

You could do it two different ways.
You could swap the drive/driven gears from the GT to your GTP trans. And that would give you 3.29. Or you could swap your GTP diff, shift kit and output shaft into the GT trans. Keep in mind that the cooler lines will need to be swapped to the year of trans that you use because they changed from threaded to click style during those years.
