For starters I had my tranny replaced back about a year ago by a tranny shop in Ft. Wayne IN Summitt Transmission. Now i am having an issuse when car shifts into 3rd it like pulsates you can feel it like pulling and then not pulling but it dose this relativaly smooth and also it will not shift into overdrive unless i am doing 50mph or over. I can run 45 mph for miles and it wont shift unless i have gone 50 mph prior to it. Any input would help.

Almost sounds like a line pressure solenoid problem.

Is that an easy fix or do you have to tear the tranny apart.

Well if that is indeed the problem, then it's a pretty time involved and tedious fix. You will have to get the side cover off of the transmission to get to the valve body. I've done them inside the car before, but man it's a pain.

It should store/throw a code if it is what's causing that.

I'm having the same problem, It wanders around before 4th. You have to go up to 50 or so to get it to shift. Doesn't seem like the tranny's slipping or anything through the gears, just can't make the commitment into fourth.

Im not quite sure how, with a 2000 GTP you ended up in the early 90's transmission section, but Ive moved this to the correct area.

Oops, I guess I'm having a 90's problem. I was just wanting to know what would cause indecisive shifting from third to fourth, should be the same reason.

Are you sure it is hunting between 3rd and 4th OR is your lockup clutch the causing the feeling? On my info page there is a section about rpm-bounce while cruising around 40mph. These transmissions are controlled by the pcm and the only way to really know what is going on is to have a scan tool hooked up and watch the data
