New to the forum and thought i would ask a quick question... i have recently been trying to put my 2000 grand prix GT on the road... its been sitting for nearly 2 yrs... put new pads and rotors all the way around, new dorman sway bar nad links, new lower control arm and tie rod... next problem im gonna tackle is the transmission!!! to give you guys a description of whats happening, on 1st starts or when ever its been sitting for more than an hour, when i put it into gear reverse or drive it wont move... its stays in neutral, i would put it into neutral rev it up then put back into gear and it will move then... long story short after looking at trannymans website i figured out it nexts to be rebuilt! I cant afford to rebuild it soim currently looking for to used transmission... lucky for me i have the 0brb transmission and i cant find one in my area... i was wondering if i could swap out the 0brb with the bcb and would it be a direct fit without changing anything over??? and if so what years and what cars can i get the tranny from?? ive talked to a couple junk yards in the area and they sd if i put the bcb in it would bolt in but wouldnt get out of 1st gear... please help!!!

With these transmisions there's only a couple things to consider.

Stay 98-02 and the only possible issues you have are
Gear ratio (easy to swap yourself)
Internal vs external PNP switch (easy to fix)
Click or threaded cooler lines (easy to fix)

Soo... yeah. You should be able to work right through anything. As for the jy's telling you they won't go into gear. That's a big pile of poop.

Gear ratio is pull two 13mm off the diff cover and use a screwdriver and hammer to pop the diff off the output shaft. Put new in..put cover back on

Internal vs external, look for the post I did onit. I linked someone to Bonnevillepro. But can no longer get there during the day.

Click vs threaded. Could be as easy as tossing in different lines.
