    just wondering what is the best way to fix a inner axle boot that came off? the boot is is fine the band just slipped off. can i use a big hose clamp? or do i have to stick with the band clamp. thanks!!

    You need to repack it with fresh grease (likely all yours goo'd all over the area) and then reclamp it with a cv clamp. A hose clamp will off set the weight and likely cause a vibration.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    yea there is grease everywhere kinda figured a hose clamp would do that. is there a better clamp out there or are they pretty much all the same.

    There's two types. One is a crimp style and the other is a pull and fold over style.

    Personally though. I go down, spend $60 for a new axle and put it in. It's not worth the $10 or so savings after buying the tool and parts to fix an axle boot.
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
