Have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 115k mi. At a stop, car will not move in Drive - acts like it is in neutral, engine will just rev. I have to start in a low gear - 1st, 2nd - get up to 15/20 mph and then put it in drive and I'm fine. Any idea what is wrong here? Will I need a tranny re-build?

Sounds to me like you might have broke your forward band. If so, internals will need to be replaced.
