I've done some research and really can't find any info on where it's located in the trans. I replaced the reverse servo lip and still have issues with reverse so I want to replace the boost sleeve. I saw online that you can get the cover off the trans with it still in the car. If I take the cover off, can I get access to the reverse boost sleeve? Thanks for all the help

I see it listed in those diagrams as parts but don't see it in the diagram. Does the valvebody need to be removed from the trans to get to it?

It's in the valve body. I've never tried to work on it, so I'm unsure if the VB has to be uplled to do the work. Most likely it does.

The valve body does need to be removed to change the boost valve and sleeve. There is a retainer clip that retains the sleeve in the valve body and from the factory it is installed on the gasket side of the valve body which points towards the inside of the trans. I would also replace the pressure control solenoid while you are in there and since the valve body will be removed you can check to make sure all of the valves are moving freely. There are a number of valves that if stuck or dont move freely can cause low pressure

thanks trannyman. I'm taking the car to get the trans codes read tomorrow to make sure it is the reverse boost valve and then I'll be calling you to see what parts you recommend me getting.

Unfortunately scanning the car will not help find a reverse slippage problem. If you are taking the car to a shop that has a transmission fluid pressure gauge then they can test line pressure in Reverse and verify that it up to spec. Im not sure if we have line pressure specs on our website yet but I will look later tonight and try to add them if they are not on yet. With a pressure gauge hooked up and a scan tool that allows control of the pressure control solenoid you can ramp the amperage up and down and watch line pressure change accordingly.

ok, well when I go to the shop tomorrow I'll see if they can test the line pressures instead of scanning for codes.

I've been real busy with work but I just got around to testing the line pressure in the trans. My gauge was reading ~220psi in forward/reverse, so now I'm stumped again as to what it can be. Trannyman, any ideas?

Any help? I should mention that even when the fluid is cold, it never fully engages reverse and will slip if I apply a decent amount of throttle. Also, you can hear the pump whine while in reverse. I read something about the reverse servo not being lined up correctly, can anyone tell me how to check this?
