I have a 2000 Grand Prix SE 3.8L with a 4T65E Tranny with the code BRB on it. Called around to replace the tranny and found a 4T65E out of a Chevy venture but the tranny has a BCB code instead of BRB. Will that tranny work on my pontiac without issues? anything is needed to make it work or is it a "Plug and play" swap?

Thank you guys so much for help.

Ok so will it work on my grand prix or it simply won't or isn't a good idea? I'm just trying to sell the car when the trans is replaced as I bought a different grand prix, just wanna know if the BCB tranny will work on my pontiac or will it need to be reprogrammed? when you say a different gear ratio does it mean it wont even work on my pontiac?

sorry for all the questions, just wanted to know what needs to be done to make it work, different ratios matter when I'm only trying to have the car run?

    Thanks again.

i looked into it a little more, do you know what year van it came out of?

i looked in my gm interchange guide and you should be able just to drop it in and go.

Thanks again. Yeah the tranny came out of a 2000 Chevy Venture, the salvage yard's computer says it will work without a problem, however, I thought to ask you guys, will my PCM need reprograming for the different ratio? Any further help will be greatly appreciated.
