Hey all, I'd like to first start out by saying I'm fairly new to the site and don't know nearly as much about my car as I'd like to, if only I had the time. That being said, I was recently cruising down the highway when my SES light came on. The moment it flipped on, my 1998 SE 3.1 was thrown out of overdrive, but it went back into OD soon after. The light went off after I had stopped later that day.
That was 2 weeks ago, and the light flipped back on today, except with no shift out of OD. I went to Auto Zone and had them run a code check and found a P1870 code which the technician didn't recognize. I've done some digging and found out there could be quite a few problems associated with this code, some of which require pulling the tranny to fix, which is hard to justify paying for on a GP w/ over 200k+ on it. Anyone with experience with this code? Thanks.
Also, the tranny fluid isn't burnt and fairly bright red, so no indication there...
