its got a brand new magnaflow cat. it presents itself as if it was the transmission shifting from 4th to 3rd and back up. but it doesnt jerk like the tranmission, its more of a lumbering back and forth as if you were feathering the throttle very quickly

Try shorting the positive and negative battery leads.
this will reset the learned PCM tranny settings.

a PCM reflash would do the same thing.

Disconnecting them first, of course. Then touch 'em together.

disconnect the battery and then touch the cables together? or the battery terminals (which makes no sense)

The leads, not the battery itself.

    This will reset PCM settings.

Try it and see what happens.

The stutter and fluctuation of RPM's could be a vacuum leak, MAP leaky, or MAF.

And I'm also curious to know what fixed the power issue

the rockers were out of order. and it didnt do much for the power. a little but not much. maf and map are both new. it cant be anything in the tranny because it does it in both third and forth, but not second because the rpms are too high. the only thing i think it could be is the ign control mod. i had it tested last year and it came back good. it doesnt have any other issues. no starting issues or anything. never misses, just stutters. i replaced the lim gasket thinking it was a leak. the exhaust man gasket seems to be leaky but i dont think that would cause problems since its EFI
