I have a 2003 Grand Prixwith 170000 miles on it. Went to move the car and when you step on the brake to pull it into drive it will not release where do I find the bad switch? By the shift slector or by the brake pedal I see that their is two switches up their.

    Do your brakelights still work?

I would say the switch on the brake pedal is bad. Also, you can override the shiftlock by inserting a key or similar object into that little slot near the shift lever. This will unlock the shifter as well until you get it fixed.
