Well first off then...answer my transmission question.

Secondly...all that can be done for 10K...and if you can't do it for 10K then your doing something wrong. These cars are cheap.

ZZP's TC kit is just over $2k...and all you really need is a giant universal FMIC and run your own piping with a bigger turbo if you want...It can still be done for under $3k and it would be a legit monster.

$800 for a cam is nutzo. Even Paul's Custom Grind ones are $500

My transmission from Dave was like $2k.

    $400 for sways is insane...get GMPP's...$150.

    I paid about $700 for heads...if that.

I'd keep the stock rear wheels and get Weld's for the front and throw a awesome tire on it...like a M/T ET or a Hoosier QTP.

So there...10K. If that. Your throwing money in the wrong places if your spending all that money on sway bars and other crap.

why build the bottom end, what a waste of money, im going for 700whp+ next year on a stock bottom end,

not to mention you can go intercooled turbo and kit 425 at the tires with just rockers.
02 Grand Prix GT Intercooled turbo 5-speed 718whp 618wtq @ 21psi 7575 billet, spool valve, custom manifolds, 4" downpipe, 16way adjustable coilovers, 18x9.5 with 275's all around, gxp interior, gxp brakes
tilton triple disc, custom aluminum flywheel, tilton slave and master, an awful lot more

Don't kill the guy...If thats what he wants to do thats what he wants to do....I'm sure the majority of us (including me) would probably do something else with that amount of money, but the car might be pretty cool if he ends up going through with it.

    How old are you?

You can build a 9 sec car for $10-15k these days but if you can't find a 1" chain your going to need to have it weigh in at 3000lbs or probably less.

If your really serious, 400-500whp is pretty simple when you have cash.

    I would go:

First look into this: Matt M bought a 9 second monte carlo build from an owner who couldn't complete it, here is the motor that was going in it, you could probably get him to switch it to a ST5 cam: ZZ Performance

Stattama turbo kit - tell matt m your mod list, he'll set you up with a proper sized turbo.
Oversized intercooler that comes with the kit
    65# injectors
    PRJ fuel logs
Racetronix fuel pump with rewire kit
3" electric cutout on the downpipe
Wideband, electric fuel pressure guage, oil pressure guage, aeroforce guage or just constantly scan the car with hptuners/powrtuner.

As far as trans, your ****ed without a 1" chain, like I said, if you can get it down to one of the lightest grand prixs ever, then a 7/8ths chain may hold. I would go to Dave at TEP or a reputable builder of 4t65e's. There are a lot of tricks to getting these transmissions to last and your going to need very high line pressure to shift this power.

If you don't have a good tuner, your ****ed as well.

PRJ wires AFAIK are some of the best out there.

or you could make your own.

God forbid you did something custom

I happy with all the feedback lol. So thanks everyone for all the suggestions, I think ill be contacting one of the transmission builders on here as to what parts I'm going to need. Ohh, another question, i make some of my cash for building this car by buying other cars and fixing them up to sell. The current project is an 04 Grand Prix GT, i bought it from the previous owner with a damaged fender, passenger door, and broken mirror. I bought a new door and fender and had my body man repair a few dents and repaint the parts so it looks pretty good now. The last problem i have with it yet again is the transmission. Theres a shudder when it shifts from 1st to 2nd and i can't quite figure out what it might be. I dunno if the clutch packs are starting to slip or if the tranny just needs to be flushed. Nothing would surprise me, the last owner took real sh*#@y care of the car, took me 2 hours to get all the crap off the interior.
