I'm curious about the current limitations for upgraded gtp trannies? Not that I'm anywhere even near that point myself but I just wonder? What kind of HP numbers, and more importantly what kind of track times can these cars get to (and run reliably) now that the 1" chain is no more?

I'm hitting 13.5 with my built tranny and its still capable of more

ZZP PCM, Wbody PCM, Custom PCM ( the best ), Headers, 3" exhaust, 3.4" pulley, ZZP 10.3 Wires, AL 104's, 160 tstat, 1.9 Rockers, Custom huge cone intake. Gunna push this GTP to the limit.

all transmission parts are wear parts. eventually youll break it, no matter how built it is.

It is very dependant on the engine setup and how you drive, as well as how the tune is set up. The 7/8" chain will work into the 400+whp range but it will stretch and needs to be considered a maintanence item. As mentioned above any higher powered setup is going to break stuff regardless, its part of the game to go faster. There are several guys who have dipped into the 10s on a 7/8" chain but most of these cars are limited use and dont have many miles put on them. 12s are no problem, even deep in the 11s arent too bad but there are too many variables for an exact answer.

I know there are a million variables with a question like this so I appreciate the answers. Good to know the limits are still pretty high.
