The car is a '97 GT with 110K that has been pretty much sitting for the last year or so. Now, OD is working some of the time, mostly when cold. When it warms up, it might work, might not. If the clutch hub splines were gone, I'm assuming it wouldn't shift into OD at all. Is there a solenoid that controls the OD? Anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks for any help.

As long as we're at it, a couple of other questions too. The shifter won't shift out of park without putting a screwdriver in the slot on the console and the ignition switch sometimes sticks so I can't get the key out. Are the 2 related? Cable adjustment? Thanks again.

I have the same problem, if I had the time I would try adjusting the cable. The ignition switch is designed to not let u take your key out until u are in park. They are related. Sometimes when i shove the **** out of it into park it will let my key slide right on out.

my GT did that too after my accident, if you take the counsel apart theres a white plastic arm that gets pushed down with the screwdriver, take a zip tie and hold it down. the only down side is you can pull the shifter into drive without putting your foot on the brake
