Ok, so I bought usmcz28's old built trans a couple months back. Finally got around to installing it this past weekend. It ran last night enough to get around the block(did the swap at my friends house). So I go to pick it up today and it won't stay running for more than 5 seconds and shuts off. The car is a gt and the old trans had 3.29's in the stock trans. What needs to change in the PCM to make the trans be recognizable by the PCM? The trans also has a zzp 2500 stall tc, if that means anything.

    no security light.

Could it be the key that i used? They key that i used hasnt been used in over a year. I had to use this key because the original key was locked in my friends garage where i did the swap.

could be... try the original key. if it still starts up and dies... u might have to do a security re-learn.

The security problem you are facing happend to me once, all I did to correct it was lock the car with the remote, and unlocked withe the remote, and then it started like normal.

The key i used was the first time i used it in over a yr and a half, therefor the tune currently on the PCM as wel as the PCM itself, did not recognize the key(the pcm is from a 2000 regal).

I used the other key and it works perfecty fine!
