Can't get key out after putting car in park. Sometimes I will hear a click and it will come out. I don't know if I need to adjust the cable or replace a part.

I just posted this a couple days ago...
there's a little button underneath the steering column you can push with a screw driver after you get the cap off. It'll let your key come out. Easiest way to fix it is to zip tie the button down. Mine's worked great for over a year now. If I recall correctly, three torx screws gets the lower half of the cover off.
...otherwise you replace the solenoid....
Thanks. I'll give it a try and let you know if it works.
Had the same problem for years with my car. Just used a small screw driver to push the button in on the steering column that I kept in that little pocket in front of the gear shifter in the center console. Became a real pain in the ass, especially when ever I had to valet the car. Eventually got it fixed, it ended up being the cable that runs from the shifter to the column that releases the key when it is in park. Had the dealership do it while it was in for some other work being done. I do not know what exactly the part was called but heard it is a pretty involved process. Also heard it is a pretty common problem with our cars, so I'm sure some one on here can be a little more helpful if that is the case. Good luck!
i just took the solenoid out and you can turn the car off in any gear and take the key out...
I can reach the button through the hole in the steering column plastic, no need to zip tie or carry a screw driver. It doesn't happen all the time, so I never bothered with a permanent fix.
Fixed! Used the zip-tie method. Thanks to all of you.
I'm having the same prob so i'll try the zip trick thanks
