Did you drive up and pick up the tranny or did you have Dave ship it to you?

    Just curious...

How was it shipped? In a crate? Was the crate reusable? Still trying to decide if I will drive to have one installed or have one shipped. Gotta figure out a way to return the core, since I have no use for it...

The transmissions ship out on a pallet. I keep my core cost pretty low and by the time you factor in shipping to get it back to me you arent going to get much back. I keep it low as most people dont want to hassle with sending it back which is fine and you could also sell your old one locally and make a little money on it, just a thought.

just drive out there! practice on your drifting while you at it, but make sure your tranny holds up when you get to dave's. you're getting new tranny when you come back home anyway. plus you get a good bird's eye view of the midwest

I appreciate the insight. And I had thought about the shipping problem (price) as well. One way or the other, I'm probably going to need one in the next year. I don't feel up to a HD swap myself, and whether I go turbo or top swapped, my poor tranny might be crying.

I know. Gas money, bud. Gas money.

I'm leaning heavily to driving anyway.

    Like 14 hours...

I'd have nearly a thousand miles on the trans by the time I got back.

I am considering driving out there and swapping my tranny out with one Dave builds. I figure I would have 16 hours on the road and $160 in gas round trip.

    Still thinking...

i'm glad i'm only 3.5 hours. if either of you guys going to drive out there and need room for the nite, stay at Lee's Inn dave probably recommend it too. it's nice, cheap ($30), swimming pool, jacuzzi, and breakfast serve. oh and you got to go to this restaurant i think it's call "steak factory"? man, that place served the best 14-16 oz. ribeye dinner for like $10. real beef steak! i better stop yapping i'm starting to
