    Hey guys,

So I was pulling my 98 gt out of a parking space (with the wheel cut to the right) and it started to move and then made this horrible grinding sound and the revs when up and no more movement.

I was able to push the car out and drove it home OK.

So question is, does this sound like a transmission problem or something with the axles? How can I tell?

    Thanks

I'm thinking if it was the axles, you would have had the same noise and problem going forward.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm going to see if she can make it to a tranny shop. Going to try after work tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.

[guess I'll be getting it rebuilt from the sound of it]

Just got a call from the shop, not gonna believe this: The problem was a missing bolt in the front caliper causing the wheel to bind in reverse.

So the tranny lives for another day.
