Well i grenaded the pass. side cv axle yesterday, any thoughts? Axle was only about 15k old, just out of the blue, took off from a light, burnt some rubber... crunch and BANG lol

Inner tripod was the failure point. Im not running that much power, any others had this problem?

If it wasn't a failure of the actual CV axle, you have a weak motor mount. I torqued my motor mount so hard with a launch on some DR's it popped the boot off and separated the tripod from the cup. I since then bought the poly motor mount from ZZP and it's locked up tight now with a new lifetime warranty napa axle.

No it was just the axle, no motor mount movement. You can reach down and the inner tripod just clanks around so something just snapped in there, not taking it apart to see because i have it under lifetime warranty.

ive seen this happen before a couple times. it happens because of poor castings,or bearings where not properly greased before they where sealed causing them to lock up and snap the tripod

Yea i just looked at it, it freewheels easy as hell lol. The inner tripod stays stationary while the shaft going to the hub just spins. Piece of ****.

I have bad struts and was accelerating on a hard turn that had a bump in it.. After I slowed down it was clunking so bad I though the engine went out, but it was the cv boot flapping around and being torn up.

If they made everything heavy duty I would invest the extra money.. I hate cheap parts.
