the difference is the gear ratio and the differential and cover everything else should be fairly comparable tho some years have some strange things done to them, you can grab a kit and various other parts from tripleedgeperformance.com tell dave Todd S sent you.

the HD has 2 bearings supporting the diff. Intense Racing is good too. INTENSE-Racing.com: 3800 - Transaxle
