A shift kit may help with the harsh shift, but what you really need is a speedometer recalibration. Those tires are quite a bit larger diameter than what the transmission is programmed for. Also, the extra weight of the bigger wheels doesn't help much.

and yea. the 24's are most likely a elephant siting on a ant for your car. dont think a shift kit would do anything for you.

i had my dude at morads reprogram the pcm all that done car only has 60,000 on it never beat on i just put the rims on and it started happening only drove car 60 - 100 miles and put it up for winter i think cuz the wheels are so heavy its causing a late shift causing it to go high pressure mode thinkin with a shft kit it will firm up the shifts a bit making it not do this and it takes like a hr. or 2hr. for the harsh shift to accure.

i can probably tell you that it wont make a lick of difference. youre going to need a built transmission to handle the load of those giant wheels. should have gone with 20s and lowered the car, not 24s and raised it.

Weigh them... Versus stock rims, a little bit is a lot in this case.

rotating mass is worse than static mass. it also comes down to how you drive the car. if youre just driving around normally i bet you wouldnt notice the transmission losing is luster, but if youre trying to beat on it (WOT runs) then youll see it getting sloppy on shifts. the problem is that the transmission is losing in this battle and you need something to make up for it, which nothing besides a rebuild or a new transmission can solve. a shift kit will only delay the effects if not make it worse because of the harder shifts it creates.

bio248 i bought it from my mom shes 60yrs old never beat on she bought it new she rarely drove it i put the rims on and noticed the hard shift and changed the fluid and filter nuthin really in the pan either it just dont have a firm shift its soft not slipping either had it at the trans shop they couldnt tell me nuthin other then sum seals on acumilator or pistons might shrunk from sittin in the garage and tried sellin me a complete rebuild for 1300hundred i could see if it had more miles but 60k?? so i wanted too get a shift kit to replace them seals and hopefully firm up the shifts???

imo if you want 24's go buy a truck and as bio is saying doubtful the ****kit will make a diff with the rims. the trans is already running like a chicken on crack to push the 24's.
