I have a '98 grand prix GT that wont shift into overdrive. it's running about 3100 rpm at 70mph and when I shift the shifter from OD to 3rd, the tach doesn't move. Otherwise the tranny works just fine...no hard shifting, slipping or anyting. Any chance the is something fairly cheap or simple? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

After doing a little more research on this site, I see that the 4th gear clutch hub is a pretty common problem. How big of a job is this? something a guy could get done in an afternoon or is it fairly big job? What would I have into parts if I did it myself? Thanks again!!

To get at the hub. It's drop trans enough to get the side cover off. Then remove a much of parts to get at it. Luckily..it's pretty close to the side cover.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
