If you enjoy being a part of this community 19SE92, then you should refrain from being so argumentative with the people in this community that make their living working on these things and know them inside and out and who have SOLID reputations not just here but in the 4T65E market nation wide.

Is it just me, or does the first picture look like it's the pan from an axode ford front wheel drive? First off I really need to find out why the first pic is a different shaped pan from the picture in the second, or maybe i'm totally off and you just snapped your magnet in half. Either way explain why you have a front wheel drive ford pan in your first picture?

I keep looking at the first picture in your first post and am tripping out. Okay I'll let it go. Am I the only one that sees a different shaped pan?

I think what you are seeing are two different ends of the pan. One end is more pointed than the other.

Okay I'm sorry I have to interact guys. Why on earth would you assume your differential roll pin got crushed up into little bits of friction material and nicely placed itself on your magnet without your differential blowing apart?
You are worrying yourself for no reason. Trust me you will be the last to find a roll pin ground up to powder in your pan. Your pinion shaft would have shot through the case within miles, and if.... iff!!!!!! you were lucky enough to find it in your pan on a service it would be easily identifiable.
If what you are trying to show is a one of your transmission pan services, I would say hey fluid looks pretty good, magnet... not too bad considering how long it took to put that on there (keep in mind not many jiffy lubes clean your magnet)
This might make you feel better. I just rebuilt a trans... it was on the road for 2 days, car is back pulled to the pan it's a long story to go into these details, but anyway the magnet was fuzzy with black friction dust, i'd say about 1/4 as much as you see. I pulled the trans out again, cuz well the customer is... well he doesn't matter he's my problem. Anyway I found absoulutly no signs of hot spots all the friction material looked brand new etc etc. What I'm getting at is, if you pull a tranny out everytime you see some fuzz on the magnet you are going to be dissapointed when you don't find what you are looking for.

its a fairly documented event in the GP community for the roll pins to end up in the transmission pan. Its happened more times than I can recall. The roll pin isnt crushed up in the picture, its the first picture he posted.

vermsta - I'm confused and I will say up front I know nothing about transmissions, but are you a legit transmission specialist? I only ask because some of your comments make me believe you are perhaps not a specialist, and just more of a DIY. No offense, but when you joined here, you presented yourself as a transmssion person iirc. 19se92, although more abrasive, is sort of the same way.

I not trying to be a ***, but many of us trying learning from legit people want information from the experts in their fields. Most of us can tell the wannabes by reading their posts and very soon begin discounting what they say. Please enlighten us, so you aren't ignore like the other member has been.

I would also add to IndeedSS's post, that if people TRULY feel this way then there is always the user reputation. Just keep in mind, if you leave it for one person, then you have to leave reputation feedback for someone else before you leave it for the same person again.

19SE92 had a negative reputation and is/was the only one to have such. But the system only works if the members of the community use it. It was a requested feature here and I remember several posts that felt it would be a good thing and gave their support of it. So lets use it.

Indeed, thank you for being as diplomatic as you were. That was a great way to ask the question and not make it a negative thing, hats off to you.

Thanks Scotty. I certainly don't want to hurt anyones feelings unjustly. I'm just observing things and questioning them, as is in my nature.

Oh and I didn't know about the reputation thing and don't feel that I can form an accurate opinion yet.

I was just trying to give another opinion from someone that rebuilds transmissions for a living. I've been rebuilding transmissions for a transmission shop for over 10 years now. I have rebuilt over 100 440, 4t60e, and 4t65e transmission. I don't claim to be the best at what I do, but in my experience what I see on the trans magnet wouldn't make me pull the transmission out. I'm not saying it's not common, but I've never seen the differential roll pin in the pan without the diff pin shot through the case.
Anything is possible though, so maybe he got lucky and caught it before it happened. I just don't see much on that magnet. It looks like 40k worth of wear to me.
I've looked at those pictures over and over again, and I don't see a roll pin in there, am I not seeing this picture correctly?

Makes me wonder how well versed you are in your field.

That and the way you comment about things makes think you are either 19SE92 or his twin. Again I don't mean to offend, but there are similarities.

I'm not denying that there is a roll pin in the picture, it's just a blurry picture and I can't make it out. Obviously if you have a roll pin in the pan you got serious issues. The only point I'm trying to get it is that car came into my shop for a service and I saw that magnet I wouldn't reccomend pulling the trans unless of course there was a roll pin.
