Thread: transmission lines leaking

Alright, this issue is annoying me quite much. The quick-disconnect lines that lead into the transmission from the radiator continuously leak while the engine runs. Is there a special type of O-ring deal that I need? I've tried every O-ring size I have and it still leaks. Has any1 else had this issue and fixed it? plz let me know. Thanks for readin.

i have workd with a couple disconnect lines, one blew off on a customer on the freeway in detroit, i went, it was disconnected from the radiator, i un screwed the end that was still in, i pushed the quick connect back in and then screwed the piece back in the radiator and its been over a year. so far so good. the o ring i think is either red or orange. i would make sure there isnt something in there like part of the original o ring, maybe thats causing the leak. also i had a customer with a taurus 99 and he replaced the radiator, and the quick connect at the bottom was leaking. brand new radiator, i un did it checked for an o ring put it back together and it still leaked. his old one didnt lol weird. do i warranty the radiator or just let it leak, make the trans go bad and then what? well the car had like 250,000 miles at the time but i think now he has a different car. i really dunno why they incorporated the quick connects to the trans lines anyway seems like there is alot of chance to fail. especially under full throttle....thats just my thinking.
