prolly a good question for trannyman. after i do a partial rewrite on my pcm via PowrTuner, the tranny goes thorugh a process of relearning and and the shifts start out very sluggish. i heard mixed views on taking it easy for the first few miles, like 20-30 miles b4 getting on it somewhat hard/hard and others say it'll relearn quicker if u drive it a bit aggressive, not 100% but enough to go into part throttle downshift. thoughts please so i can prolong my tranny?

I use HPT and have never ran into that and only doing a complete rewrite will cause the trans settings to relearn. If your trans is sloppy just after a write then your trans tables must be bumped up a bit to make it feel better after it learns. The more shift cycles you make the better it will get at a sooner rate and often the changes dont take effect until a key cycle after driving it. Keep in mind that if it is shifting soft at part throttle then if you only drive part throttle that is the only area that it is learning to. It learns WOT shifts only during WOT. I would drive the car around the block a few times and make a few key cycles but it probably will help more by driving it a little more aggressive so it can learn that end of the spectrum faster.
