    hi i have a pontiac gran prix 1998 and i am having problems with the transmision when its cold i put it in gear and it grabs for about 10 sec then starts slipping till it doesnt grab at all and it does a noise in the trans as if it was the steering pump without fluid what can that be?

    That would probably be a bad transmission.

    Check the fluid level and color. If you have the availability pull the codes even if the light is off. (Some codes to not illuminate the CEL)
    I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    im having the exact same problem? if left to sit for a bit it will move otherwise it will start to slip again?
