    Hey guys

    i have a 00 GT with no over drive and i was given a 97 SE with a 3.8 with a good tranny in it now is there any way to put the tranny from the 97 into my 00?

    Not easily, no. The 97 SE is going to be a 4T60, not a 4T65E.

    I am actually doing the same swap right now and I have ran into a few minor problems the torque converter does not mount to the fly wheel, and you will have to reprogram your computer because of the difference in the gear ratio.

    As mentioned above the 97 SE has a 4T60E and will not work with the 00 pcm. The 4T60E uses a completely different TCC arrangement and also does not have an input speed sensor or pressure control solenoid. If you had a 97 GTP trans then tuning would allow you to use it, but the SE and GT used a 4T60E trans that is not compatable without a handful of wiring and earlier pcm and isnt worth the trouble

    That's because you picked up a 4T65E-HD to replace the normal 4T65E in your car. They use different size torque converters and different gear ratios. FWIW, you will also need a different passenger side axle due to the different differential on the HD transmission.

    Like I told you, easier to sell that transmission and go find the right one.
