What scotty said. My buddy did mine (tech for 20+ years) for me. Took him about an hour, while we shot the ****, sandblasted some of his parts etc., basically taking his sweet time.

BTW. a common issue with these transmissions is slippage on a hard left. Ensure the fluid is right to the very top of the full mark on the dipstick to keep this from happening.

Also glad that the shop took care of you on the loose filter. You'll notice that any time you buy a filter kit it typically contains a crappy gasket and a fresh collar. You only need to install the collar if the filter is loose when you put it in.

A lot of filter issues with all make over the past few years. A lot of Chinese made filters just don't fit. Also no ill effects from over filling this trans up to 16oz. Good luck!

Scottydoggs where did the trans come from. I recently purchased a 01 GTP motor (bottom end noise) with transmission, trans from RockAuto. So I contacted them with serial number. They replied trans purchased in 2014 for a 01 GTP, (when I went to pick up I took passenger side axle 39 splines non HD only 33 and it fit. Pretty happy with purchase. Just have to get rid of motor.

TEP is pretty much the go to place. they can do whatever you like. depending on how deep your pockets are, you can break 3 g's fast.
