I've got a 2005 GTP without Tapshift and i've recently started having an issue that i'm guessing is the tranny. Every so often when i accelerate from a stop, if i accelerate hard, the car will move slightly and jump forward, then it will shift into second a few seconds later. I'm guessing its the first band, but i dont know these trannys 100% so any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance everyone.

Here is a popular link to a page in the problems section of our website:

Your problem can also be a few other things and momentarily takes off in the wrong gear (feels like taking off in 4th from a stop a quick second) but either way is internal due to wear and mileage. Hope this helps

I have the problem with my 04 jolting from idle the moment I touch the accelerator, like it was either in neutral then power-shifted into Drive... or that it was just skipping! And even when I'm coasting down the road, it'll still give that jolt when I give it some gas! I know my gearbox is stuffed, just don't know the cause of this peccadillo, and it's topped up with four-month-old fluid too (did the service in January), so that's not the reason!
