Hey guys! My cat recently got all messed up. I need to either replace it or remove it, so I've decided to look for a cat-less downpipe to replace my current dp.

If anyone could give me a few pointers on what I should buy, I would really appreciate it! Also, would I need to do any PCM reprogramming with just a CAI and Downpipe replacement?

Sorry for the amateur questions, but hopefully someone can help me out.

    Thanks!

ZZP sells pretty nice units. hogan performance is also an option.

you will need a PCM to delete/turn off the SES light that will be set from having no cat on the car.

    ZZPerformance - ZZP Downpipes #ZZ-GPDP

I assume the 3" Aluminized bolt-in offroad is what I'm looking for? I have a 04 GTP with stock exhaust.

This is also a great time to consider headers.

Yes if you are willing to install headers pay for nice ones or deal with cheapers headers is deff a option since most all of them come with a dp...I think at least

Headers are nice, but wouldn't I need to get a reprogrammed PCM with headers to get the full performance from them? Or does that become more important when doing things like smaller pulley?

I figured a downpipe would be an easier, less-hassle way to fix my cat problem. Since I wanted to get rid of it anyway.

    No.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.
