Alright makes sense...I currently have 9006 hid kit from ddm...I could even order h1 bulbs from ddm and use my existing ballast...looking to do the morimoto h1 projectors and some new ebay headlights...seems like the only way to get decent light

the morimoto projectors will come with H1 bulbs, so you dont need to order any. Truthfully they're probably far superior to DDM bulbs anyway.

    No they dont.

If you buy the whole kit for 200+ bucks then they come with bulbs.

I'd buy the mini's that they have in the blow out sale for 60 bucks and shrouds and then buy some h1 bulbs.

Something i'd like to add is they're not "H1" ballasts. The H1 bulbs have AMP style connectors which is what some ballasts are. So..AMP

I said bulbs. I got mine for $150 shipped and with H1 bulbs: Bi-xenon: Morimoto Mini H1 4.1 - HID Projectors from The Retrofit Source Inc It's an option for $25 more. That's a steal considering that standalone they are $40.
Essentially he "blow out sale" items are defective ones, they won't assure 100% quality, won't warranty them, and they MIGHT not have all the required assembly pieces. I've looked into it, and based on that bought mine new. Besides that, some of their "blow out" ones may still be 3.0's or whatever. 4.1 are in comparison a lot better, and i wish i had some. They "upgraded" short after I got mine. >_>

The blow out sale has only been around for 2-3 months, I bought my first pair back in oct 11', so I have no clue which model I have.

You can use the word "defective", but from talking with TRF, they should be a complete unit that works, but was never offically tested out and sent to the "good" bin.

The pair I ordered looked perfect with no defects that I can see, but results can vary.

And that's really the biggest thing, they won't warranty them or anything, so if you DO need to get different ones at any point, it'll cost you MORE.

Yeah I think I will wait till I have the money to buy the 4.1 morimoto's so that I get the warranty...seems like everytime I buy something because its a good deal I end up having to spend more because something is effed up

Just gonna throw this out there: In the future if anyone plans on during retros of any sort and you get that sealing glue everywhere, use high performance brake cleaner. Takes care of it like its butter. Trust me on this, I made a big mess with that glue and it got just about everywhere.

Literally just finished them today and put them on.

Is it needed or worth it? Probably not, but I had my mini h1 retrofit 1st n bought fxrs to upgrade and just put the minis in the high beam spot.
It looks cool but probably never use them lol.
And its a lot of time, patience, trial and error.
