This just started yesterday, but my seatbelt light on the cluster keeps lighting up/blinking, and the chime keeps going off even though my seatbelt is securely fastened. No one else is in the car, and nothing is on the seats.

I've tried unbuckling and rebuckling, tugging hard on the belt, wiggling the belt and it still does it. Occasionally it will be fine and the thing wont chime for 10-15 minutes, but then it starts again.

Loose wire issue? Grounding issue? Burn the car to the ground?

Burn the car to the ground option.

I would assume a lose connection.

you got a bunch of wires under the seat, i bet one is crimped or cut, or lose connector. the wire you want is the one that comes out the bottom of the seat belt, the side you clip into. it runs to the bottom of the seat.

if you unplug the wire, the belt light and chime should never come on again.

I figured this was the cause. Am I able to access it without removing/unbolting the seat? I tried to reach down there to see what I could feel and it felt pretty cramped.

if you have a power seat lift the rear, and slide it forward, if not 2 t 45 bolts i think hold it down in the back, recline the seat back, then lift the back up, and lift the front, they got a hook on the front.

dont lift to far till you see where the disconnects are, or you'll rip them apart. should be a clip on the frame, with wires to it.

Well whatever I did after I got home from work seemed to cure it. I reached down there trying to figure out where the plug was and must have moved the wire enough to not ground out on anything. Whole way to work, and whole way home no ding. If it comes back I will unplug it.

Now I just need to cure my random air bag light at highway speed.

Any idea which plug-in to unplug? The annoyance has returned. I put the seat forward and tilted it forward only to see about 5 different plug-ins. There are two on the floor and 3 up on the bottom of the seat. I tried to trace wires but cant feel where any wires come off the buckle assembly because I can't even get my hand on the side.

Just to update I figured this out. Easiest way to access is to slide the seat as far forward as possible and tilt the bottom forward as far as possible. On the bottom side of the seat closer to the console there are two plug ins. There is one single wire black plug in that needs unplugged. Its a bit of a pain in the ass but a flat head screw driver and the right angle will pop it right out.
