Will the k&n aircharger kit also fit the 3800?
Even if it did its not really worth the money.
I am spending more than most on my low budget intake and still will only have about $60 into it including couplers, polished pipe, and the filter. And mine is going to flow better than he K&N one.
If you are wanting good bang for your buck honestly I would check out an ebay seller by the name of ChromeIntakes I purchased mine from them and its absolutely worth the 60bucks I have included the link to their page on ebay.

And your sure it's going to flow better? More of a opinion huh? how? K&N intake is a great intake not worth the money brand new but finding a used one for around $100 is a steal and well designed. Get the one designed for the 3800 and not the GXP doubt it would fit w/o modification. 2 different engines.
I guarantee its going to flow better. The filter I will be using is proven to flow better, and it was proven using almost the exact same type of flow machine that K&N displays at auto parts stores.
Green Filter USA Flow Machine - YouTube
There's no trickery, no special effects. The Green Filter is made directly at our factory, the K&N is bought directly from K&N and the paper filter is bought directly from a local auto parts store.
Yea...that video proves absolutely nothing other then that particular filter flows better then the so called K&N in the video that's all. There's so many thing that factory into the intake other the filter. For example the bend/heat/ etc and it's not like you can't replace the filter w/ something different.
Its a simple bend and it larger than the K&N tube. If you want to spend $300 on a K&N intake then you may as well use some money as toilet paper while you are at it.
And that is called a FLOW machine so the filter I am going to be using FLOWS better than K&N. You asked the question, I answered it.
Homemade intakes on a 3800 v6 work the same as any of the cold air intakes on the market, its been dyno proven that the $200+ intakes make no difference from an open cone. http://www.grandprixforums.net/dyno-...ake-33225.html Save yourself some money and just make your own intake.
If you spend $300 for an intake you're stupid. Plain and simple.
What is an intake? A filter and pipe that leads to the throttle body. What are the other factors leading to making a better intake??? Can't believe some people actually stand by the k&n intake system when they can make the same thing for $50...
At the end of the day it's just a stupid intake and you won't make a crazy amount of power out of it.. so why throw $300 towards something you'll barely notice? Might as well invest in a tune.
Agreed. I stated earlier that if you find a used k&n for $100 its well worth it. I would spend $300 on it because there are cheaper alternatives. Build quality is there I went from a crappy Wizair to k&n couldny been happer and yes i bought it used for the low.
A used $100 K&N is still $50+ more dollars than I'd spend on any 3800/5300 intake system.
^^Needs bigger filter.
