So I own a 2004 GTP and lost a set of my car keys somewhere??>>>
I didn't realize that our keys had a chip in it so I got a blank one off of E-Bay with the same code.
Now does a dealership have to cut the new key or can I take it to my local hardware store and save some money?

    Thanks in advance.

As long as you have one working key you’re golden. Any local key shop can cut it, and then have them code the key. Well, I call it coding. It is a fairly simple process that takes about 20 seconds, however I don’t recall how to do it except that it involves having a good key to work off of. The key shop will know.

Now if you don’t have a working key, then the dealership pretty much has to do it.
