So I have done a lot of research on the exhaust systems for the 04+ Grand Prix mine is just a standard Grand Prix so single exhaust. I picked up another stock exhaust and was thinking about doing a resonator delete and just do straight pipe to the muffler? But from what I read a lot of people say not to do so.

With everything else stock if I do the res. delete with straight pipe will it sound real raspy and get a lot louder?
    or
Should I do a res. delete and put a cheap glass pack in its place? If I do a glass pack in its place is a Jones or Flowtech Glasspack fine?

So what should I do right now? Let me know.

Also in a month or 2 I want to do a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series. Which of those 2 mufflers will sound better?

The Glasspack replacement for your res. is your best choice. It will sound more mellow and give it a better tone. Not necessarily louder, but a lot nicer. A cheap $20-$25 one from Autozone is perfectly fine.

How about getting a GT bumper with the dual outlets and going that route. It looks better too. As for the exhaust setup...its up to you...I'd get a catless 3" Downpipe and a big glasspack to replace the rezzy.

I would love to go that route with the GT style bumper but I cant find one for a decent price. I dont want to drop a bunch of money just do a dual exhaust. Ive been looking for a GT rear facia but having a hard time finding one used at a decent price. Also Ive been considering a 2.5" Downpipe with a highflow cat. I was told with 3" Downpipe I would have some problems until I got a tuned PCM. Is that true? I am going to be sending in my PCM here soon. Just got to figure out who I want to do it. Probably ZZP.

I did my exhaust just recently from a single outlet to dual.
Spent 300 on exhaust piping all mandrel bends stainless steel 2.5" all the way
About 300 for mufflers Flowmaster super 44s and magnaflow high flo cat and dual dual tips.
Like 50 bucks for back fascia dual outlets
300 dollars for pace setter headers.
    No res.
I wouldn't recommend taking your res out at all unless you do it all. If anything get a hi flo cat if you arent lookin to spend a lot of money. I slowly got parts and than did it all at once. I really like the sound its pretty damn loud. Hope this is some help to you.

Res controls the rasp and cat controls the drone...along with the mufflers.
